Wait…what? The People need to start printing “Pray for Lauryn” t-shirts in similar fashion to the “Pray for Paris” tees. Lauryn Hill, the former Fugee, was scheduled to perform with the Weeknd at the Grammy Awards. However, Hill was a no show for the performance, and places blame on her tight schedule.
The veteran femcee left fans disappointed, and also received backlash from the top dog of the Recording Academy. Let’s hope that the actual reason for Hill’s absence was that she was caught in the middle of a Fugee’s reunion studio session, or working on a new solo LP.
Born and raised in the birthplace of Funk, and arguably the birthplace of Rock n’ Roll, music is in my veins. If names like Bootsy Collins, and the Ohio Players ring a bell, then you know where I come from. As a musician and poet myself, I have an appreciation for art that hasn’t been inundated by the agendas of major labels and networks. Recently I’ve been sharing music and connecting with artists via social media. Follow me on Instagram @mainstream_music_isgarbage.
