You Never Know Someone’s True Mental State: Kehlani VS. Chris Brown

It has been seven years since Chris Brown has physically assaulted Rihanna. As we all know, back in 2009 Chris Brown was charged with assault for physically assaulting his then girlfriend singer – songwriter Rihanna. They had an on again off again relationship for four years. Chris Brown cried out to the media, wanting us to be empathetic, and sympathetic towards him. He became the laughing stock and the talk of the town. He was banned from performing at the 2009 BET awards and there was also a restraining order against him; in which he couldn’t be within 200 yards of Rihanna.

Brown has been in the spotlight for numerous things especially when it comes to his disrespectful language and actions. For example: he’s cheated on both of his ex-girlfriends Rihanna, and Karruche Tran. He also had a baby while in a relationship with Karruche. Chris and singer Frank Ocean also fought over a parking spot back in 2013. Despite his mishaps he doesn’t seem to take it light on other artist, nor does he mind adding in his “2 cents.” On March. 29, 2016 at approximately 10:41 pm Chris Brown tweeted “Girls be mad at a nigga for fucking around wit bitches but her DMs got more names then the Declaration of Independence #YEAHIMTHROWINGSHADE” also tweeting “There is no attempting suicide. Stop flexing for the gram. Doing shit for sympathy so them comments under your pics don’t look so bad” then tweeted “OK I’M DONE. Guess she gone have to watch the games from a real “box” now. ‘THE TELEVISION’ #OHB ‘OUTTA HERE BIH”

Cleveland, Ohio Cavaliers’ point guard Kyrie Irving was dating singer Kehlani. It was reported that she cheated on the Cavaliers player with her ex-boyfriend – singer, songwriter, rapper, Party Next Door. PND tweeted a photo of the singer and himself in bed and from there things took a turn for the worst. People on social media verbally attacked the 20-year-old singer, Kehlani. People have been calling her names like “Thot, Hoe, Cheater, Bit**, etc. Kehlani didn’t take the attacks too well and tried to commit suicide. Some hours later, Kehlani took to Instagram with a picture of her with an IV in her arm lying in a hospital bed with a caption saying “Not always crying for attention or help, I got my mama number on speed dial for that shit. Is everyone that conditioned to celebrities not being REAL PEOPLE??? I’m fucking going thru it. Going thru 20-year-old drama queen issues and figure since all the trials in my songs that have seemed to help so many others, sharing my truths must be continued. Yes, I go thru some crazy ass shit. But YES I TELL THE STORY SO THAT HOPEFULLY SOMEONE ELSE WHO NEEDED TO HEAR IT, WOULD. I’m tired of being called “cry for help” cuz never in my life have I asked a single soul to take pity on me no matter WHAT I’m going thru on my love life: I am severely utterly in love with my first love. Went thru a bad breakup and ended up easing into a relationship with a man who was one of my best friends. Tho we realized we both weren’t exactly at a time where we were prepared to do so. NO I’m not a CHEATER, a THOT, I’m a BELIEVER IN FOLLOWING YOUR HEART and not LYING TO YOURSELF. And in all aspects on everyone side EVERYONE IS HAPPY AND HONEST AND MATURE. Social media is the goddamn devil. Go outside and play, you have your own lives to live that don’t resolve around “celebrities” or “socialites” who are simply trying to live lives just like you.” Kehlani said ex-boyfriend PND saved her life. Since then, she has deleted all of her photos on Instagram.

Chris Brown says and does unacceptable things and asks for sympathy. His words were very heartless and uncalled for. Am I the only one that feels that Chris is hypocritical, double standard, and biased? Suicide isn’t anything to play with; coming from someone who suffered with being suicidal for many years. The comments on social media were a little too hard on the singer. You don’t know the true mental state of someone. Therefore, you can place no judgment on what their attempts or actions that take place. I’m tired of people on social media being computer thugs, and cyber bullies. Many people on social media thought she did it for attention; I think otherwise. I feel it was a cry for help. Some celebrities took to social media to call Brown out, while others like Zendaya, Tinashe, Fifth Harmony, along with many more unfollowed Chris for publically ridiculing the singer. Irving took to twitter to respond to Kehlani’s suicide attempt by saying “Kehlani and I weren’t dating when PND took that photo, I send my love and compassion.” Those tweets since then have been deleted.
