DRUHILL GETS A 2016 DANCE MAKEVOER ON ROSS FROM FRIEND’S LATEST SINGLE

20views

Techno label Lobster Theremin is preparing to release Ross From Friend’s second EP in July. The lead single from the EP is a mellow dance track titled “Talk To Me You’ll Understand.” Provocative chord progressions set the mood right away; this isn’t a high energy, fist pump ‘till you drop jam. A snippet of film rolling on an old school projector is faintly heard in the back while an up-tempo beat drops. Part of the hook from Dru Hill’s 1996 hit “Tell Me” is screwed, and placed throughout the song in such a way that makes you anticipate it every couple of beat measures. The Elusive Ross From Friends has a Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/RossFromFriendsMusic/?fref=ts, and Soundcloud, https://soundcloud.com/rossfromfriends. Born and raised in the birthplace of Funk, and arguably the birthplace of Rock n’ Roll, music is in my veins. If names like Bootsy Collins, and the Ohio Players ring a bell, then you know where I come from. As a musician and poet myself, I have an appreciation for art that hasn’t been inundated by the agendas of major labels and networks. Recently I’ve been sharing music and connecting with artists via social media. Follow me on Instagram @mainstream_music_isgarbage.
