Acid Jazz Band Nitetides Prepares For 2017 Debut Through Indie Label Sol Sounds Records

2017 promises to bring some fresh faces to the underground music scene. Acid jazz Ensemble Nitetides is gaining some buzz with their debut single “Moon Runes,” released through Sol Sounds records. Lead vocalist Nailah carries the tune as if Musinah was her vocal coach, and although Nitetides presents themselves as a jazz unit, “Moon Runes” is more of a bluesy arrangement with elements reminiscent of work from Norah Jones ca. 2002. Lead bassist and writer, Alex, informed that the band is currently putting the finishing touches on the debut EP set to release early next year. Born and raised in the birthplace of Funk, and arguably the birthplace of Rock n’ Roll, music is in my veins. If names like Bootsy Collins, and the Ohio Players ring a bell, then you know where I come from. As a musician and poet myself, I have an appreciation for art that hasn’t been inundated by the agendas of major labels and networks.
