The Roots Are Reaching The 'Endgame' - Working On Their 17th Album

Everyone should be familiar with who The Roots are at this point. If not for their massive catalogue of albums, then certainly they’re recognized from The Tonight Show. Even while being Jimmy Fallon’s official band on television every night, they’re still producing original music. Their last album, …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin, was a satirical look at violence in hip hop and American society. In addition, it was also one of the best hip-hop projects, and albums period, of 2014.

So what would they have cooking for their next project? As it turns out, Questlove may have given fans a hint. The drummer took to Instagram and posted a behind-the-scenes look at the boys in the studio. We get to hear some pretty nice beats. Take a look below.

“In 1996 w our 3rd album #IlladelphHalflife we decided to be our own sampling source and jam in the day and sample ourselves at night. 20 years later we are working on our 17th album entitled #Endgame….& we startin all over again. Here the gawd @StroElliot is breaking out his get busy tools and making ish sound tight!”
