Green Day is not done releasing new content. However, this time, it’s not going to be another album. After the release of their 12th studio album Revolution Radio, the band announces they’ll make a punk rock documentary. Their manager Pat Magnarella will also be producing, and the documentary will debut next year.
The documentary will apparently go into detail on the birth of the genre. It will start with “Northern California’s pivotal role in the evolution of punk rock.” It will also touch on “the loud, intense and anti-authoritarian philosophy of music and politics that arose in the late 1970s.”
“Early San Francisco Bay Area punk pioneers like Dead Kennedys, Avengers and Flipper, as well as the MaximumRocknRoll fanzine, helped take the punk underground global.”
This sounds like the right time to release something like this. What do you think about Green Day making a punk rock documentary? Leave your thoughts in the comments down below.
