Critique: The title of this project was a perfect fit. This EP is a just a preview of what Luu Breeze has to offer; something in the shade, representing what’s to come when the suns hot enough. The album is a more chill and laid back form of hip hop that makes you want to chill and bond with your friends or significant other on a nice day. It starts off bopping, but not too much, with Back To 23 to heighten your senses just a little.

The execution of the emotional traction was well controlled, up until Orange Crush, where the subject matter changed from “pats on the back” to “seduced.” This is where the tempo slows and the mood changes; while the emotional traction steadily rises, preparing your senses for the only track with a feature on the EP SNL.

Once Piñata starts to play, it seems as if the emotional traction decreases steadily as for the closing of the EP. The entire project was a great in execution, melody, lyrics, and production. The only problem was that the replay value wasn’t appealing. The lyrics weren’t catchy and the tone wasn’t universal. I would see myself playing the full EP maybe once in a blue moon, but SNL would be played weekly. Over all the album was a great representation of Luu Breeze‘s artistry, and I’m excited to see what he drops next.
